Have you ever asked yourself, why do we need to worry about being authentic when this world is not real? Why should I care about living a successful life? I keep trying, but nothing goes right for me. This blog post is about why being true to yourself is the most important thing you can do for the world. Being authentic and truthful to yourself will help you be more open and aware of what you need to rise above any circumstance you find yourself in.
What is Authenticity?
The meaning of authenticity has many variations, but the consensus is that it means being genuine and truthful to your beliefs, values, and goals in all that you do. Living your life true to the direction you want to go despite your circumstances, culture, family beliefs, and values. Truthfully being authentic means that you are committed to living your life and not accepting any other form.
When we take on the attitude that we will commit to our dreams and desires, then the universe supports you
.
Authentic Presence
As stated above, being authentic means living committed to your values, beliefs, and goals. Does this mean you cannot be open to other views? No, it does not. If anything, it means being more open and aware of others' views. While some may challenge yours, others will reaffirm your commitment to your journey towards your ultimate goal. Having the attitude that you will not accept negativity or judgment, whether given or received, will help you control the ups and downs that life will present. It's not about stopping the bad days or the good days, but about having control over how long those days last.
8 practical steps to be authentic in an illusionary world.
While the world we live in is a reality we have created, there are ways we can be in control of how we live, regardless of our circumstances. I know you have heard these things before.
1. Be aware of your values, beliefs, and goals.
When we are fully aware of who we are and where we are going, it makes us feel balanced and connected, helping us not to feel anxious or overwhelmed. Having a strong foundation helps us stay committed and unwavering.
2. Be aware that the decisions you make are they moving towards your goals or away from them.
Committed decisions that move towards your goals challenge your habits, as we become accustomed to living in a certain way. However, our inner being wants us to live up to our full potential, so we yearn for more.
3. Connect to your heart, which is the epicenter of your soul.
When we take the time to sit and be present, we allow space for source, God, or the supreme being, however you express universal power, to come into your life and be your ultimate support system.
4. Be okay with being vulnerable and imperfect.
Society sells the idea that we need to always be in control, be strong, and not let others know our weaknesses, as they may exploit them for their own gain. When we try to bottle everything up, our minds become overloaded with stress, which can lead to depression and stress-related illnesses. While we may not want to talk to someone about our problems to be truthful and authentic, we need to be problem solvers, not problem dwellers. Brainstorming with a trusted friend or writing in a journal are just some ways we can be vulnerable and ultimately laugh at our own imperfections, as this is a great way to grow.
5. Be open to learning, as we are interdependent beings.
Although we are all individuals, we are still connected, just as a puzzle piece is an individual piece that, when connected, creates an awesome picture. But on its own, while it shows great potential to be a picture, it needs the other pieces to help outline the big picture. Don't be afraid to ask.
6. Use your intuition, as this is your inner guidance.
As beings, we know we have our inner guidance system, as we feel it when we are in a situation that may feel unfamiliar to us; it's our gut feeling. Unfortunately, many distrust this feeling and thoughts, as they do not trust their inner knowledge, yet it is one of the most authentic, truthful, and supportive powers we have.
7. Treat everyone as if they are the most important person in the world.
Earl Nightingale once said, "Our attitude towards others determines their attitude towards us." If we desire connection so we can grow and live to our fullest potential, we need to develop an attitude towards people that we wish others to have towards us.
8. Ultimately, live with integrity.
Live with integrity; do not say one thing and do another. A person's word is their bond, and living by it will earn trust. When we live without integrity, we live with stress, as we are unbalanced, and others start to perceive us as untrustworthy and undependable.
BE THE INSPIRATION AND DRIVING FORCE YOU WISH TO FIND IN OTHERS!
